Purchasing prices for grain in Ukraine over the year have increased substantially and continue to grow. This was reported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Ukraine.

As of February 26, 2011 procurement prices for wheat grades 3 and 4 increased by 59% and 58% compared to the price on the same date in 2010, to 1,894 UAH/ton and 1,762 UAH/ton, respectively. Within a month, the prices of these classes wheat grew by 15% and 10%.

Grade 6 wheat price rose compared with last year by 61%, reaching 1,691 UAH/ton; during a month by 11%.

Rye has risen in price over the year by 91% to UAH 1,621 per ton, over the month by 18%; corn 50% to UAH 1,824 per ton and 17%; barley class 3 price doubled over the year to 1,813 UAH/ton and over the month grew by 12%.
