China's industrial profit growth improves in April

China's industrial profits growth improved in April adding to hopes of faster recovery in months ahead, data published by the National Bureau of Statistics showed Monday.
Profits of industrial firms increased 9.3 percent in April from the previous year, after expanding 5.3 percent in March. The combined profits of major firms amounted to CNY 436.7 billion.
During the first four months of the year, profits gained 11.4 percent to CNY 1.61 trillion. The latest increase is likely to boost investment in machinery and help robust recovery.
