Yuriy Boiko has said about this in his comments on air of the Fifth Channel about a memorandum on the observation status in the Customs Union, approved by the government at the recent Cabinet's meeting, a UKRINFORM correspondent reports.

“We are very interested not only in deepening cooperation with the Customs Union countries. Therefore, it is clear for us that we want to become an observer at the first stage in order to see the “pluses” and “minuses” existing there and to appraise the situation,” Boiko said.

He reminded that until now there was not an observation status in this organization: “Really, the Eurasian Commission does not have an observation status for today, therefore, a memorandum, which was approved by the government, is aimed at deepening of cooperation. And when a decision is taken about implementation of the observation status into the organization's statute, we will claim.”

The Vice Prime Minister explained why this is of great importance for Ukraine. “It is very important for us, taking into consideration our mutual trade operations with the Customs Union countries. We cannot stand apart and see what processes are going on there and how they influence our economy.”
