National agricultural producers continue boosting the volumes of agricultural products. In total, by results of 2013, agricultural production is expected in Ukraine at the level of UAH 236 billion.

Director of the department for economic development of the agrarian market Vitaliy Sabluk has said about this at a meeting of the Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry, held within the frames of the exhibition AGRO 2013, UKRINFORM reports with reference to the Ministry's press service.

“Since January and until April, at all categories of economies, gross agricultural production grew by 5.1%. Growth was demonstrated by 20 regions. And if we preserve such a positive trend, we could expect that over the current year Ukraine will reach agricultural production at UAH 236 billion, which is 6% up against 2012,” Sabluk noted.

According to him, over this period, production of foodstuffs grew and their prices reduced.

“The food industry boosted production by 2.5%, and prices for its products reduced by 0.8%. In April against the previous year, vegetables dropped in price, as well as eggs and sugar. At the same time, agricultural fairs will enable preserving the price stability. In total, since the beginning of the year, there were over 19,000 of them all over Ukraine,” the specialist noted.
