Ukrainian economy receives almost USD 1.6 billion of foreign investments in Q1

Foreign investors made over USD 1.5 billion of direct investments in the Ukrainian economy in Q1, 2013.
The State Statistics Service informs about this.
“In Q1, 2013, foreign investors made USD 1.559 billion of direct investments (capital stock capital) in the Ukrainian economy,” a statement reads.
According to the State Statistics Service, the volume of direct investments in the Ukrainian economy as of April 1, 2013, made up USD 55.708 billion, which is 1.3% up against investment volumes as of the beginning of 2013 and is USD 1.226 billion in per head calculation.
Investments came from 136 countries. Main investor countries for Ukraine are Cyprus - USD 17.692 billion, Germany - 6.124 billion and the Netherlands - USD 5.26 billion.
As reported by UKRINFORM, in 2012, foreigners invested USD 6.013 billion in the Ukrainian economy.
