Naftogaz sees net loss almost double in Q1, 2013

Naftogaz of Ukraine's net loss in January-March 2013 grew by UAH 6.97 billion, or 1.9 times, compared to the same period in 2012, to UAH 7.749 billion, the company said in a statement in the information disclosure system of the National Commission on Securities and the Stock Market of Ukraine.
Naftogaz's gross loss in the first quarter of 2013 grew by UAH 2.841 billion, or 2.8 times, year-over-year, to UAH 4.524 billion.
The company's net income in the first quarter of the year shrank by UAH 12.214 billion, or 31.4%, to UAH 26.688 billion.
Naftogaz holds a monopoly on gas transportation through transit pipelines and a monopoly on oil transportation through oil pipelines, and is the largest producer of oil and gas in Ukraine.
