Kazakhstan GDP growth makes 4.6% in Q1 2013

In January-March this year, real GDP grew by 4.6% compared to the same period in 2012, Chairman of the Statistics Agency Alikhan Smailov said on Wednesday.
"The country's gross domestic product, according to current data, in January-March 2013 amounted to 6.6 trillion tenge," he said.
However, he noted that the share of the production of commodities in the GDP structure accounted for 40.4%, services - 52%.
According to the Agency, the short-term economic indicator in January-April 2013 to January-April 2012 was 103.9%.
As for the other indicators of socio-economic development of the country, in January-April 2013, the volume of industrial production reached 5.92 trillion tenge, which is by 1.9% more than during the same period of 2012.
The volume of agricultural GDP in March 2013 amounted to 286.3 billion, the volume of freight traffic in the country remained at the same level - 145.9 billion tenge.
