Ukraine lifted restrictions on the export of wheat

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food and grain traders have agreed to lift the limit on wheat export abroad.
This was announced by the Ministry of Agriculture Department of Economic Development Director, Vitaliy Sabluk.
According to him, Ukraine has sufficient grain reserves, the price of wheat in the country is stable, and the condition of crops of the new harvest is mostly good.
The limit on wheat exports was revised several times and now stands at 6.6 million tones, and as of April 18, 6.3 million tons were actually shipped. Sabluk believes that by the end of the season (until July), traders will be able to export from Ukraine up to 0.5 million tons of wheat.
Last season, the volume of grain exports from Ukraine totaled 21.8 million tones compared to 12.8 million tones in 2010-2011. Wheat exports then amounted to 5.17 million tons.
