Revision of the tax incentives for businesses working in agriculture will not influence the value of foods, Revenues Minister Oleksandr Klymenko announced in Kharkiv on Saturday.

"We will not allow the changes (revision of tax benefits - Ed.) to somehow affect the prices of foods. I want to reassure all. We will calculate everything carefully and do it attentively, in coordination with the agriculture ministry, in order to avoid an increase and inconveniences to the consumer," Klymenko said.

According to him, an interdepartmental committee composed of representatives of the ministries of economy, finance and revenues is revising tax breaks now.

"We are holding inventory of tax incentives, since a tax benefit is called to encourage a certain industry. Unfortunately, for a long time, we have had both an effect and the benefits that are inefficient and do not perform their economic function. We are reviewing them together, particularly in the agricultural sector," the minister said, adding that the abolition of privileges or the introduction of new ones will take place "in a close contact with businesses."
