Ukrainian grain crops much in demand in global market, expert says

Ukraine's grain crops are in high demand in the global market, UkrAgroConsult analyst Yelyzaveta Malyshko said this at the 10th Black Sea Grain 2013 conference in Kyiv on Wednesday.
"Ukrainian grain crops are in high demand in foreign markets. Despite the reduction in grain yield in 2012, this season Ukraine has an export capacity of 21 million tons," the expert said, commenting on the latest trends in the world market.
She predicts that under favorable weather conditions local farmers will be able to harvest more than 52 million tons of grain, which will allow to export more than 27 million tons and will be a record figure. In particular, the share of corn accounts for about 57% of exports - 15.5 million tons.
"Thus, in terms of exports Ukraine will not only retain its place in the TOP 5, but will be as closer as possible to the world's corn export giants - Argentina and Brazil," Malyshko summed up.
The conference is attended by about 700 representatives of 425 companies from 50 countries.
