In 2012 the efficiency of grain hoppers in Ukraine increased by means of route shipments. In 2012 hoppers’ turnover period was reduced by 25% year-on-year and totaled 8.02 days against 10.1 days last year and 11 days normally. The reduction of hoppers’ turnover was reached owing to shorter delivery time of grains by means of route shipments. In 2012 Ukrainian Railways formed 877 route trains and shipped about 2.8 MMT of grains towards the ports.
