Import substitution of agricultural machinery planned to be increased from 20% to 40% - Prysiazhniuk

Currently, in Ukraine, investment projects are being developed, which will help increasing import substitution over three years from 20% tо 40%. In the state budget fro 2013, also UAH 166.8 million is envisaged for financial leasing of national agricultural machinery.

Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk has said about this, the ministry's press service told UKRINFORM.

"We understand that provision of agricultural producers with modern technology is an urgent task, which will help minimizing losses at the time of crop gathering. However, it is difficult for small agricultural producers to purchase the necessary technology by themselves. Therefore, the financial leasing mechanism, in this case, is one of the most effective. Therefore, in 2013, UAH 166.8 million was allocated in 2013 for leasing programs for domestic agricultural machinery from the state budget," the official said.

He also noted that currently the state actively works over improvement of state support mechanisms for the purchase of modern agricultural machinery. Thus, according to the Program for intensification of the economy development for 2013-2014, this increase of expenses for financial leasing is envisaged. This will enable agricultural producers to receive over 4,000 of modern agricultural machinery this year.

At the same time, the minister noted that the government approved a complex State target program for realization of the technical policy in the agroindustrial complex until 2015. And this document is basic for development of the agricultural machinery construction sector.

"We set a task to themselves to produce competitive modern technology at domestic plants and to provide agricultural producers with this technology at accessible prices. In particular, in 2013, it is planned to produce about 40 grain harvesters," Prysiazhniuk says.

According to him, concessional lending was provided for domestic machine building enterprises and favorable conditions were created for attraction of investments into production of modern high-productive world-level technology.
