Ukrainian government will provide USD 1 Bn to cooperatives

According to the official information released by Ukrainian government Ministry of Food and Agriculture of Ukraine is planning to provide approximately USD 1 Bn to agricultural cooperatives with the purpose of leasing agricultural equipment. Ministry representatives also stated that there will be a mechanism developed this year for returning credit interest to the agricultural cooperatives that purchased machinery with credit costs. Government is planning to assist Ukrainian agricultural cooperatives to purchase at least 3-4 thousand pieces of machinery during 2013-2014 period.
AgroInvest comment: We are not very pessimistic regarding such government initiative, especially in the light of recent talks regarding tax benefits cuts.
