In early 2013, Ukraine’s largest agroholding UkrLandFarming gained control of a 68.6 ha coastal land parcel in Small Adzhalyk estuary nearby the port of Yuzhny (Odesa region).

The Group intends to use this land to build a port terminal, according to UkrLandFarming’s eurobond issue prospectus. The document points out that, for the most part, the terminal will be purposed to export the holding’s production. According to the prospectus, UkrLandFarming is now in talks with export and credit agencies to get export finance.

“The Group believes that its planned logistics and modern storage infrastructure will contribute significantly to its competitive position as a leading global exporter of grain from Ukraine. It is planning to develop this infrastructure further,” the document says. In 2013-2014, UkrLandFarming plans to build three silo complexes in Khmelnytsky, Vinnytsya and Chernihiv regions with a planned capacity of 312 KMT each, and with the possibility to expand the capacity of each to 500 KMT. In the beginning of 2013, the group had storage facilities for a total of 1.126 MMT, including 626 KMT of certified ones and 500 KMT undergoing certification. According to the prospectus, the holding became the sixth ranked grain exporter in Ukraine in July-December 2012. In total, it exported 1.184 MMT of grain in 2012 through Swiss ULF Trade AG created within the Group in late 2011.

According to the prospectus, UkrLandFarming is Eurasia’s largest agroholding active in grain growing, of eggs, egg products and sugar production, cattle raising and distribution of machinery, fertilizers and seeds. The holding’s land bank consisted of 532 Th ha as of early 2013. The ultimate beneficiary of the holding is businessman Oleh Bakhmatyuk.
