Estonia's agricultural output up by 10% in 2012

According to the preliminary figures of the Ministry of Agriculture, total output of Estonia's agricultural sector went up by 10% y/y to EUR 885.5mn in 2012. Livestock farming increased by 5% y/y and crop production went up by 16% y/y. Grain and cereals posted the fastest growth of 37% due to high grain prices. Exports of agricultural products increased by 14% y/y in 2012. According to a previous report by Statistics Estonia, in 2012 agricultural products and foodstuffs accounted for 9% share of total exports (or EUR 1.13bn), going up by 15% y/y.
