Reform of Ukrainian ports: Will grain handling in ports be available to exporters?

2013-03-27 14:53:52

Will the reform of Ukrainian ports destroy current monopoly?  Will it be possible for traders to participate in privatization of seaports or development of seaports’ infrastructure on terms of concession? Will this be of any benefit for traders themselves? These and other questions will be answered by Andrey Selyutin (Arzinger, Ukraine) at the X International Conference “Black Sea Grain: Export Forever!”.

“Reform of seaports which has begun with passing of the Law “On Seaports of Ukraine” concerns not only companies directly working in seaport but their clients as well.  It is not a secret that not all grain traders have an access to port capacities during the season for purposes of grain reloading for export. According to our research, the reform might be turned to advantage but this requires deep understanding of its mechanisms” – comments Andrey Selyutin.

Traditionally, “Black Sea Grain-2013” conference will discuss the prospects of the global and Black Sea markets in the coming season 2013/14, as well as investments in the agricultural sector of Ukraine. These hot topics will be presented by the leading international experts.

Last year “Black Sea Grain” conference was attended by over 750 trade and agricultural representatives, leading exporters, grain buyers, agro-holdings, banks and insurance companies from 52 countries.
