Ukraine in 2012-2013 MY is first in the world by sunflower oil trade - Ministry of Agrarian Policy

Since the beginning of 2012-2013 MY Ukraine has exported sunflower oil for $2 billion. This was reported by the press-service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy with reference to the Minister Mykola Prysyazhnyuk.
From the beginning of 2012-2013 MY, Ukraine supplied foreign markets with over 1.7 million tons of sunflower oil, which is 26% more than during the same period of the previous MY. A total amount of oil exports for the period amounted to $2 billion
"In the current marketing year, Ukraine is the world leader in terms of the traded volumes of sunflower oil. And this is 50% of the world market. That is to say that every second liter of sunflower oil sold in the world is produced in Ukraine. Overall, with the beginning of the marketing year Ukraine produced 2 million tones of the product, and about 80% of this amount was received by foreign markets, "- said Prisyazhnyuk.
"Today, the main importers of ukrainian sunflower oil are India - 30%, Egypt - 16%, EU – 16-18% and Turkey - 11%. Exports of sunflower oil to China and Iran are also increasing," - added Prisyazhnyuk.
