Ukraine exported 1.3 million tons of soya in 2012

According to the official information released by Agrarian Exchange of Ukraine, based on data for 11 months of 2012 available, Ukraine exported 1.3 million tons of soya, which is larger volume compared to rapeseed. Major importers were Italy (528 thousand tons), Egypt (194 thousand tons) and Spain (152.7 thousand tons). Largest soya exporter in Ukraine was Suntrade company, subsidiary of Bunge Ltd. Based on results of the previous year company exported 177 thousand tons, which is 7.3% from the total exports. Nibulon placed second with 130 thousand tons and Serna was third with 112 thousand tons of soya exported.
AgroInvest comment: Ukraine is most likely to further increase soya production in 2013 with increasing global demand for the commodity.
