Ukraine's integration into the European Union should in no way end the cooperation with the Customs Union, Party of Regions MP Serhiy Tihipko told Intern on Friday.

"The signing of the Association Agreement does not mean that the EU is automatically ready to accept Ukraine. This is a different process, so I in no way would stop all processes of integration into the Customs Union. We can work according to the "3+1" format with the Customs Union," the politician said.

He is convinced that Ukraine should first and foremost focus on the EU, because "the market there is much bigger, seven times bigger, and more interesting to our economy."

At the same time Tihipko noted that Ukrainian producers are interested in the Customs Union. "In any case I would not put any obstacles, that is why I say: it is not about joining the Customs Union, but working out the formula 3+1, the maximum possible integration, which does not prevent our integration into the European Union," said Tihipko.
