Kazakhstan's entry into WTO to be even more interesting to U.S. business community - Kazakh MFA

Forum on "The World Trade Organization and Central Asia" was held at the Central Asia-Caucasus Institute of Johns Hopkins in Washington, DC yesterday, February 19, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry reported.
Kazakhstan's ambassador to the U.S. Kairat Umarov told about the course of negotiations with the U.S. on Kazakhstan's accession to the WTO, state of the Kazakh-American trade, as well as measures taken to improve the investment climate in Kazakhstan.
The Kazakh diplomat also expressed support for the initiative of the U.S. - "New Silk Road", which helps to increase regional trade and the use of the transport potential of Kazakhstan.
Significant progress on Kazakhstan's entry into the WTO was supported by Deputy Assistant of the U.S. Trade Representative Mara Burr, who commended the constructive dialogue with Kazakhstan and the WTO negotiating group.
"In general, the forum participants agreed that the entry of Kazakhstan and other countries of Central Asia in the WTO will be even more interesting to the U.S. business community. We are considering it as a site for the establishment of production facilities," the Foreign Ministry cited.
The forum was attended by the leadership of the U.S. Trade Representative's Office, ambassadors of the countries of Central Asia, representatives of analytical and social circles of the United States.
