Investment in fixed capital of Kazakhstan has grown by 7.5%

Investment in fixed capital of the republic grew by 7.5% in January 2013 compared to the same period last year, Head of the Statistics Agency Alikhan Smailov said at a briefing on the results of socio-economic development of the country in January 2013.
"The volume of investment in fixed assets totaled 217.7 mln tenge, which is 7.5% more than in January 2012," he added.
According to the Statistics Agency, GDP totaled 30,072.5 billion tenge and increased in comparison with 2011 by 5%.
As for other indicators of socio-economic development of the country, the short-term economic indicator was 102% in January 2013, compared to that of January 2012. The volume of industrial production reached 1.485 trillion tenge, which is higher than the same period of last year by 0.7%.
In turn, the volume of agricultural GDP in January 2013 amounted to 64.6 billion tenge, it is a decrease of 1.4% compared to January 2012.
A decrease in the volume of freight traffic was observed in the country, its performance declined by 8.2% to 34.8 billion tenge, compared to January 2012.
