Soaring trade between Vietnam and Americas

Vietnam's growing exports to North and South Americas generated a trade surplus of USD 15.3 billion in 2012, a 15% increase year-on-year, reported the General Department of Statistics. The total value of trade between Vietnam and the American market amounted to USD 31.3, with Vietnam's export value accounting for USD 23.3 billion. The US remained Vietnam’s leading importer, with an import value of USD 19.5 billion in 2012, a 16% increase year-on-year. Canada bought USD 1.14 billion worth of Vietnamese goods, Brazil USD 710 million and Mexico USD 685 million.
