30% OF UKRAINIAN FOOD COSTS ARE FOR BRIBES

Long time opposition leader Anatolii Matvienko estimates that 30% of food costs come from paying bribes. Mr Matvienko believes that the food business has become the most corrupt part of the economy. He believes that the more government controls the food market the greater the degree of corruption. He also blames the Tax Code saying that it raised taxes to the point where traders have started hiding income.
