Inflation expectations of enterprises' heads remain low - poll

Inflation expectations of heads of Ukrainian enterprises remain at a low level for the third quarter in succession.
Data of a report say on a poll “Business Expectations of Ukrainian Enterprises,” posted on the National Bank's official website.
“Inflation expectations remain invariable against the previous quarter and considerably lower against the average value over the whole period of holding the polls. Respondents continue naming growth of production expenses as the main factor, causing a rise of consumer prices,” the document notes.
By results of the poll, respondents improved 12-month expectations regarding the financial-economist state of their enterprises, investment expenses for the purchase of machines and equipment and an increase in the number of workers at their enterprises. Respondents are less confident in expectations of an increase in growth of products' selling volumes and boosting of investments in construction. As a result of this, index of business expectations of enterprises made up 114.3% in Q4, 2012, against 115.1% in Q3.
Heads of enterprises also admit a slight drop in the economic activities in the following three months, which is related to seasonal factors.
They believe that prices will grow for goods and services, which are purchased by the enterprise, and for their own products. Growth of industrial expenses, according to them, will speed up.
According to respondents' expectations, over the following three months, the need in credits will grow. The share of enterprises grew and remained the largest, which are planning to take bank credits in hryvnias.
Participating in the poll were 1,240 heads of enterprises from the regions all over the country, which represent the economy by main types of activities, ownership forms and the number of workers.
