The Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan forecasts lower acreage of wheat in 2013 - by 2%, according to news agency Novosti-Kazakhstan.
"According to preliminary data, crop areas will total ??21.3 million hectares, which is almost the same level of 2012," the press release was issued after the conference on preparation for planting.
The spring sowing will cover the area of 18.5 million hectares, crops will be available at 15.9 million hectares. "Wheat will be placed on the area of ??13.1 million hectares, so the decrease is expected by 329 hectares, or 2%," says the statement.
The area for rice is 6,000 hectares or 7% compared to last year, grain - 5,000 hectares.
"Oil will be sown on the area of ??1.8 million hectares, cotton - 148,000 hectares, vegetables, melons and potatoes - 393 thousand hectares, fodder - 3 million hectares," summarized in a press release.
