Azarov sure hryvnia will be stable

Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said he is confident that the exchange rate of the hryvnia will remain stable in 2013.
The head of government said this at a meeting with foreign journalists on January 18, said the media liaisons department of the secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine reported.
"We will not spend foreign exchange reserves to support the exchange rate. We have enough other opportunities to ensure its stability. There will be no devaluation of the national currency," Azarov said.
He added that a sufficient margin of safety had been created in recent years and that there was no need to use the reserves of the National Bank of Ukraine to maintain exchange rate stability.
The prime minister expressed confidence that the state budget's average annual exchange rate at UAH 8.30-8.40 per U.S. dollar would certainly be retained.
