Retail trade turnover 15.9% up in 2012 - state statistics

Retail trade turnover in Ukraine in 2012 reached 804.3 billion UAH, which is 15.9% more than in 2011.
These data were published by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
"Retail sales for January-December 2012 amounted to 804.3 billion UAH, which in comparable prices is by 15.9% more than in January-December 2011," the statistics service says.
According to the State Statistics Service, holding the lead in terms of the volume of retail trade are Kyiv - UAH 101.52 billion and Donetsk region - UAH 82.56 billion. The smallest volume of retail trade turnover was observed in Sevastopol - UAH 9.24 billion and Chernivtsi region - UAH 11.25 billion.
The highest retail trade turnover growth rates were registered in Luhansk (+20.9%), Zaporizhzhia (+19.7%) regions and Crimea (+19.7%), the lowest in Lviv (+11.7%) and Ivano-Frankivsk (+13%) regions.
As reported, retail trade turnover in Ukraine for 11 months of 2012 amounted to UAH 722.7 billion.
