Azarov hopes trade between Ukraine and China will reach $10 b this year

Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said he hopes that the trade turnover between Ukraine and China will reach $10 billion in 2013.
He announced this at a meeting with a member of the State Council of China, China's Defense Minister, Colonel General Liang Guanglie, UKRINFORM reported.
"Our trade and economic relations are developing quite well. I think that this year our turnover will reach almost ten billion dollars. An important role here will be played by our intergovernmental commission, which we created in 2011," the head of government said.
He added that Ukraine was ready to intensify military cooperation with China and expressed hope that the Chinese defense minister's visit to Ukraine would help intensify bilateral cooperation.
According to Azarov, a good example of bilateral cooperation in the military sphere is the construction by Ukraine of hovercraft for the Chinese army. According to the prime minister, cooperation in the aerospace industry is also promising.
Liang Guanglie, in turn, said that China was set to intensify strategic cooperation with Ukraine, especially in the military sphere. "China is ready to further strengthen business cooperation with Ukraine in all spheres in order to bring the relations of strategic partnership between our countries to a qualitatively new level," the Chinese defense minister said.
He said that Ukraine and China have great potential for the development of bilateral relations.
