World Bank downgrades forecast for Ukraine's GDP growth in 2013

The World Bank has downgraded the forecast for the growth of the Ukrainian economy in 2013 from 3.8% to 2.2% and in 2014 from 4% to 3.2%.
This is stated in a new World Bank report entitled "Global Economic Prospects, January 2013," which was released late on January 15, a UKRINFORM reporter said.
"The growth of Ukraine's GDP at market prices is projected at 2.2% in 2013, at 3.2% in 2014 and at 3.5% in 2015," reads the report.
According to World Bank estimates, the Ukrainian economy in 2012 grew by 0.5%, although the June report projected the growth of 2.5%.
The deficit of Ukraine's balance of payments in 2012 was now estimated at 7.8% (the June report projected 4.7%). In 2013 this figure is forecast at 6.6% (in the June report - 4.2%), in 2014 - at 5.6% (in June 2012 - 3.9%), and in 2015 - at 4.7%.
