Belarus-Lithuania trade to hit record high in 2012

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Lithuania Vladimir Drazhin met with representatives of the business community of Lithuania in Vilnius on 8 January, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus.
The meeting was attended by the owners and managers of the Lithuanian largest firms and holding companies, heads of the Lithuanian Railways, the Klaipeda State Seaport, the Confederation of Lithuanian Industrialists, major industry associations and logistics centers.
The participants of the meeting discussed the dynamics and prospects of Belarusian-Lithuanian cooperation, and considered steps to strengthen further bilateral cooperation.
When summing up the preliminary results of the year, Vladimir Drazhin said that the year was the most successful for the past 20 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Belarus and Lithuania. Trade between the two countries in 2012 will exceed the record high of $1.5 billion.
