Ukraine’s export of grains is higher than expected

During the first half of 2012/2013 marketing year Ukraine is exporting has exported larger than forecasted quantities of grains. UkrAgroConsult stated that as of December 31, 2012, Ukraine has exported 14.5 million tons of grains, including 5900 thousand tons of wheat, 6500 thousand tons of maize, 1800 thousand tons of barley and other 0.3 thousand tons of grains. Ukrainian government initially forecasted 23 millions of grain exported this season, yet grain balance was later revised with increase of wheat exports to 6200 thousand tons and increase of maize exports to 13000 thousand tons.
AgroInvest comment: increased exports of grain from Ukraine might cause lowering of prices within the global market.
