Inflation in Belarus at 21.8% in 2012

Inflation was running at 1.4% in December 2012 and 21.8% in 2012, BelTA learnt from the National Statistics Committee.
Thus, Belarus managed to keep inflation within 19-22% limit in 2012.
In December 2012 the Consumer Price Index (CPI) made up 1.4% compared with the previous month and 21.8% as from December 2011.
In December the price index for industrial output rose by 1% as against November, and by 21% as against December 2011 including for investment goods – 0.8% and 26.6% respectively, for intermediate goods – 1% and 16.4% and for consumer goods – 1% and 26.5%.
In December the prices for agricultural products rose by 0.9% as against November 2012 and 29.3% as against December 2011, prices for plant cultivation rose by 4.3% and 62.6% respectively, prices for cattle breeding dropped by 0.2% compared with November and rose by 20.8% compared with December 2011.
Prices in construction grew by 1.3% in December as against the previous month and 35.4% since December 2011, including construction and installation works by 1.3% and 42.2% respectively, machines and equipment by 0.8% and 10.7% respectively, other works and costs by 3.7% and 42.2% respectively.
Cargo transportation rates by all kinds of transport rose by 0.9% compared to November and by 43% in 2012. Telecom rates for legal bodies and self-employed businessmen increased by 4.4% over November and by 31.2% over December 2011.
