NBU forecasts hryvnia will further strengthen

Chairman of the National Bank Committee to counter unfair currency operations Yuriy Horshkov is convinced that the hryvnia will further strengthen.
He has said about this on air of the ICTV channel.
"The situation will not substantially change until the New Year. But over nearest weeks, the dollar rate will continue dropping. Therefore, forecasts of skeptics about a sharp rise of the U.S. money appeared to be false," banki.ua cites the NBU representative.
According to Horshkov, stability of the national currency is a result of fighting with speculators.
The NBU hopes that the Verkhovna Rada will soon inscribe 10 percent duty from the currency sale into law.
"On the whole, we have a very positive picture. Population realized that the dollar is not a panacea and it is not worth spending one's money for its purchase, because on the wave of speculative games the rate, as it was seen, grew on the cash market to to 8.40 UAH/USD. Now it fell to 8 UAH/USD," Horshkov summed up.
On Thursday December 27, the hryvnia has sharply fallen in price at exchange offices. The average cash dollar purchase rate in banks, against Wednesday, grew by 1.66 kopecks to 7.9996 UAH/USD, sale - rose by 1.62 kopecks to 8.0704 UAH/USD. The maximum purchase rate is 8.035 UAH/USD and the minimum sale rate is 8.04 UAH/USD.
