WEF: Kazakhstan holds 51st position in global competitiveness ranking, Tajikistan - 100th, Kyrgyzstan - 127th place

Kazakhstan is on the 51st place in the global competitiveness ranking, Tajikistan - 100th, and Kyrgyzstan - 127 out of 144 countries in the report of Global Competitiveness Index 2012-2013 prepared by the World Economic Forum.

Indicators range from 1 (worst Competitiveness Index) to 7 (the best index).

Ten countries with the best competitive index (the index from 5.72 to 5.4) are: Switzerland, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, the Netherlands, Germany, USA, UK, Hong Kong and Japan.

Kazakhstan in this list took 51 place (index is 4.38), it rose from the 72 place, if compared with a rating of 2011-2012.

"This improvement reflects the progress in many areas, but it is especially important macroeconomic stability (16th among 144 countries) and a willingness of technological innovations, where the country has moved from 87 to 55 place," the report says.

Tajikistan ranks 100 in the list (index 3.8), it has improved its position from 105 place compared with a rating of 2011-2012.

Kyrgyzstan has the worst position among the Central Asian countries and the CIS - 127 place.

From other countries: Azerbaijan is on 46 place, Turkey - in 44th place, Russia - 67, Ukraine - 74 place, Georgia - 77 place, Armenia - 82 place, Mongolia - 93 place.

Last place belongs to Haiti, Sierra Leone and Burundi (142-144 seats).

Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan are not involved in the ranking.
