Retail sales in Kazakhstan increase by 12.8% for 11 months of 2012

Retail sales in Kazakhstan increased by 12.8% for the first 11 months of this year, if compared to January-November of last year, Chairman of the Statistics Agency Alikhan Smailov said.
"Retail sales totaled 3,805.1 billion tenge (excluding turnover of catering), it is an increase of 12.8%, compared to 2011," Smailov added.
The volume of wholesale trade rose by 14.9% or to 10,128.2 billion tenge, the volume of services for providing food and beverages increased by 12.9% or to 183.7 billion tenge, according to the press service of the Government of Kazakhstan.
In addition, the Statistics Agency said that the foreign trade turnover of Kazakhstan amounted to $113,563.3 million in the 10 months 2102, compared with January-October 2011, it increased by 11.6%.
"Exports amounted to $77,381.8 million, which is an increase of 8% over the previous year, imports - $36,181.5 million, which is 20.1% more than last year," he added.
According to the agency, the number of registered small businesses (legal entities) in the country amounted to 229,484 units, which is an increase over the year 2011 by 6.2%.
