Capital of Ukrainian banks reaches over UAH 169 b in 11 months

The capital of Ukrainian banks on December 1, 2012 was UAH 169.7 billion, or 15.1% of their liabilities, reads a statement posted on the website of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).
"On December 1, the capital of Ukrainian banks reached UAH 169.7 billion, and the paid registered authorized capital amounted to UAH 174.5 billion," reads the statement.
The liabilities of banks totaled UAH 951.2 billion. In the structure of liabilities, the funds of individuals amounted to UAH 356.9 billion (37.5%), the funds of legal entities - UAH 181.8 billion (19.1%), and interbank loans and deposits - UAH 135.4 billion (14.2%).
In the structure of individuals' funds, the share of term deposits was 79.3% (UAH 283 billion) and demand deposits - 20.7%, or UAH 73.9 billion.
The assets of Ukrainian banks reached UAH 1.121 trillion, and total assets amounted to UAH 1.265 trillion.
In the structure of total assets, cash, precious metals and funds in the NBU amounted to 4.7%; correspondent accounts opened with other banks - 5.5%, loans - 65.5%, investment in securities - 8.1%, and accounts receivable - 6.1%.
