Capital investment in Ukrainian economy rises 17% in 9 months

The volume of capital investment in the economy of Ukraine in the first nine months of 2012 increased by 17% compared with the same period last year and reached UAH 177,459.8 billion, the State Statistics Service said in a statement on Friday.
The largest volume of capital investment in January-September 2012 was recorded in the city of Kyiv (UAH 44.06 billion), Donetsk region (UAH 21.65 billion) and Dnipropetrovsk region (UAH 14.08 billion). The largest growth in capital investment over the same period last year was recorded in Kirovohrad (68.7%), Odesa (57.1%) and Poltava (49%) regions.
According to the State Statistics Service, out of total capital investment, UAH 171.88 billion was invested in tangible assets (of which in major overhaul - UAH 11.4 billion), in intangible assets - UAH 5.58 billion.
Capital investment financed by the state and local budgets totaled UAH 9.59 billion (5.4% of the total) and UAH 4.54 billion (2.5%), respectively; own funds of enterprises and organizations - UAH 108.61 billion (61.2%), bank loans and other loans - UAH 27.8 billion (15.7%).
The biggest amount of investment went to industry - UAH 60.5 billion. Also, the construction saw UAH 24.44 billion in investment, real estate, lease, engineering and services to individuals - UAH 22.78 billion, transport and communications - UAH 24.58 billion, agriculture, hunting, forestry - UAH 10.46 billion.
