In 2013, there will be no fluctuations of the hryvnia against the dollar in negative direction, head of the National Bank of Ukraine committee for combating unfair currency transactions Yuri Horshkov said during hot line with the readers of the Komsomolskaya Pravda in Ukraine newspaper, ForUm correspondent reports.
"There will be no fluctuations in negative direction in the next year," he said.
According to him, there will be no jumps before the New Year as well. "There are reasons for the rate growth in autumn as the energy is paid for. Before the New Year, only some people make foreign exchange transactions for travelling abroad. Majority of people sell dollars to lay the table," the NBU representative said.
Horshkov reminded that in late 2011, the media spread false information that the dollar will rise to 15-20 UAH per dollar. "During 2012, the rate has been 8 UAH / USD with minor fluctuations, and there are no reasons to say the rate will be bad in 2013," he concluded.
