Bisiuk: Ukraine not about to limit wheat exports

2012-11-28 14:43:12

Ukraine has no plans to limit the export of wheat, despite the fact that the export volume has already reached 5.5 million tons as specified in the memorandum between the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and grain traders, First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Ivan Bisiuk told reporters on Wednesday.

"No, this is impossible. We will not deal with non-tariff means of regulation in the market... At the moment, there is no need to limit grain exports... As of today, actually 5.5 million tons of wheat have been exported," he said.

According to Bisiuk, Ukraine will export only the amount that will not influence the availability of flour and grain for the needs of the bakery industry.

The official added that according to the latest balance sheets, Ukraine has not exhausted its export potential.
