Astarta, a major Ukrainian agro holding, took a long-term USD 40 Ml loan from the International Finance Corporation (IFC). According to the holding’s report, the loan is given for up to seven years. The borrowed money will be spent on finishing the construction of a soybean-processing plant and a biogas facility at the Globino sugar mill (both in Poltava region), purchase of agricultural machinery, modernization of sugar production and expansion of the company’s land bank. Please remember that Astarta announced in August that the IFC had approved granting it a long-term loan of USD 50 Bl.
