Ukrainian trade ports increase transit volumes by 60%

At Ukrainian seaports, the volumes of cargo handling considerably grew, primarily transit cargos. By live data of the State Service of Sea and River Transport, in January, at 18 commercial seaports 9.3 million tons of cargos was handled, which is 10.5% up against the same period of 2010.
At the same time, the volume of transit cargo handling increased by 60% against the previous year to 3.8 million tons, the Infrastructure Ministry press service informs.
By estimates of branch specialists, in the future, total index of cargo handling will continue growing, and thanks to improvement of legislation a relevant level of market trends will be reached.
Main cargos that are handled at Ukrainian seaports are ore, grain, metals, oil and oil products.
