Czech inflation remains unchanged at 3.4%

Czech annual inflation remained unchanged at 3.4 percent in October, the Czech Statistical Office said Friday. It was forecast to fall to 3.3 percent.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased 0.2 percent after declining in each of the three previous months. The annual rate matched economists' expectations. Prices of goods in total rose 0.6 percent, while prices of services dropped 0.2 percent.
Cost of alcoholic beverages surged 4.4 percent annually, while transportation cost slowed on fuel prices. A dominant upward effect came from prices of housing as well as food.
