Astarta receives USD 40 M loan from IFC

According to the information released by Astarta, company received USD 40 M loan from World Bank’s International Finance Corporation. Funds attracted will be used for several purposes, major being construction of biogas fuel plant, expansion of the land bank and increase of production capability of the company. This is the sixth loan received by the company in 2012 and second one received form IFC. Company also received USD 12 M from EBRD in September for financing construction of biogas fuel plant.
AgroInvest comment: Company has already attracted total of USD 149.81 M in 2012 according to our estimates, which accounts for 6.1% of investment funds attracted by Ukrainian agro holdings, that are included in UAIndex. Modernization and expansion of land bank continues to be a trend in Ukrainian agriculture.
