Agrarian Ministry confirms land will be sold only to Ukrainian citizens

Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk confirmed that the land will be sold only to citizens of Ukraine and his ministry carries out work on the principles of the market organization in the state, he told UKRINFORM correspondent during a working visit to Khemlnytsk region.
The Minister underscored that the volume of land plots will be limited for one potential owner. At the same time, the state will form the land fund, since according to him the state is obliged to be responsible for the food security of the country. We should not loose the last capital possessed by the country and the people and we should not allow that the farmers remained without land, Prysiazhniuk said.
In total in Ukraine, there are over 60 million ha of land, including 41.8 ha make up farm lands, out of these plowing lands - 33 million ha.
In Ukraine, a moratorium is in effect for selling farm lands.
