Mr. Firtash said yesterday at a press conference that he is currently active in acquiring as much of Ukraine’s fertilizer production as possible, and with developing an understanding with those manufacturers he does not own. He believes that the new concentrated ownership will receive significant benefits. In that monopolies usually receive significant benefits there is no doubt. We also don’t doubt that the Ukraine’s Anti Monopoly Committee which is actively attempting to control over 20 sugar refiners, and ten sunflower oil producers, will turn a blind eye to the creation of this monopoly and the prices it will charge.
