Prime Minister Azarov is happy with 90% of a deal

Ukraine’s Prime Minister is happy to settle for 90% of a free trade agreement with the EU. Yesterday in a meeting with the Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs who was visiting Ukraine as the head of OECD, he suggested Ukraine should sign an interim free trade treaty with the EU. In his words since we have completed negotiations on 90% of the issues, we could sign one treaty this year, and over the course of the year negotiate the other 10%. The other ten percent is agriculture according to Azarov, and as usual Ukraine’s elite prefers to put off market liberalization until owns 100% of the market.
