This marketing year, Ukrainian farmers are planning to harvest more than 8 million tons of sunflower, which will allow Ukraine to remain a leader among exporters in the world market, the head of the AAA analytical department, Maria Kolesnyk, told a web conference.

"The predicted sunflower yield of 8 million tons will allow Ukraine to retain production and remain in the first place among the exporters of sunflower oil in the international markets," the expert said.

According to her, it is expected to harvest at least 20 million tons of corn, 12 million tons of which can be exported. This "contribution" will significantly strengthen our presence in foreign markets, Kolesnyk said. She also predicts that the prices of grain crops will rise in the world.

As reported, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy predicts that in the new marketing year, domestic manufacturers are planning to sell 3,200 thousand tons of oil. Its current cost in the world is more than $1,200 per ton.

Since the beginning of October, Ukraine has exported nearly 1 million tons of corn.

Serhiy Petrenko, director of the agriculture ministry's department for economic development, says Ukraine produces vegetable oil exclusively by European standards.
