Ukraine-Russia turnover USD 33.5 billion over 9 months

Mutual trade volume between Ukraine and Russia made up USD 33.5 billion over nine months.
Chairman of the State Customs Service of Ukraine Ihor Kaletnik has said about this at the opening of the international exhibition Customs Service 2012 in Moscow on Wednesday, the press service of the State Customs Service informed.
"Over nine months of 2012, a volume of mutual trade between Ukraine and Russia reached USD 33.5 billion. At the same time, the achieved results testify to availability of unused potential of economic cooperation. Therefore, a task of the customs bodies of Ukraine and Russia consists in the use of new cooperation mechanisms of both countries and in enhancement of economic relations," Kaletnik.
Journalists were also interested in possibility of using experience of Ukrainian and Polish counterparts, received during EURO 2012, by Russian customs officers during the Winter Olympiad 2014 and the World Football Championship 2018. In this connection, Kaletnik told about introduction of separate traffic lanes EURO 2012 and a practice of common control at the Ukrainian-Polish border, which allowed reducing the time of customs clearance almost twofold.
The international exhibition Customs Service 2012 acquired a format of a serious forum of the customs services of the CIS countries, Europe and the Asian-Pacific Region. It became a site not only for exchange of experience, but for discussion of urgent international and regional cooperation issues.
