Dinkic: Serbia’s agriculture and the military industry to benefit from the UAE

Serbian Finance and Economy Minister Mla?an Dinkic said that, in addition to a memorandum of understanding, an arrangement on cooperation in the military industry as well has been signed with the United Arab Emirates. On return from the UAE, Dinkic told TV Pink that the UAE was one of the world’s richest countries and that the offer to UAE investors entailed, among other things, co-ownership in some unsuccessfully privatized state firms and the payment of 100 million euros for 67% of ownership. UAE investors are also interested in purchasing a port on The Danube to become a logistic centre for the export of agricultural products from Serbia, said Dinkic. He also proposed that the Serbian government should form a new national airliner and purchase a new fleet of aircraft, at the same time using a contract with Airbus. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is the owner of Etihad Airways, which company is interested in building a cargo terminal at Belgrade airport, so Etihad would become a co-owner with the Serbian national airliner, said Dinkic.
