Grain exports from Kazakhstan may reach 7 million tonnes in 2012-2013

Kazakhstan, which is among the seven largest global exporters of wheat, can deliver about 7 million tons of wheat grain equivalent to foreign markets in the 2012-2013 marketing year, president of the Grain Union of Kazakhstan Nurlan Tleubaev said.
"In the form of wheat for export will be shipped about 4.5 million of wheat and flour around 1.8 million, that will be about 2.3 million tonnes in grain equivalent, total amount is 6.5-7 million tons," agency Novosti-Kazakhstan quoted Tleubaev.
According to him, the intensification of exports happen in the summer.
According to executive secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Evgeny Aman, the gross grain harvest in clean weight is expected to reach 12.0 million tons in Kazakhstan in 2012.
Last year, Kazakhstan harvested a record amount of 26 million tons of grain. Low harvest this season occurred due to the drought, which was observed this summer in main grain regions.
